Job Description
We are seeking a Mandarin Teacher who enjoys working with preschool-aged children and can create a warm, engaging, and interactive classroom experience. The ideal candidate has early childhood education experience, preschool teaching experience, or an existing Mandarin lesson plan/curriculum that can be adapted for young learners. The goal is not only language instruction, but also to help children experience Mandarin through songs, movement, storytelling, games, art, culture, and daily conversation. Responsibilities Teach Mandarin to preschool-aged children in a fun and developmentally appropriate way Plan and lead engaging Mandarin lessons for the summer program Use songs, stories, games, movement, crafts, and cultural activities to support learning Create or adapt lesson plans suitable for children ages 2-5 Maintain a positive, safe, and encouraging learning environment Communicate with school leadership about lesson plans, materials, and program progress Support children with different learning levels and comfort levels Help us evaluate the program for possible year-round continuation Qualifications Fluent in Mandarin Chinese Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred Early Childhood Education background preferred Existing Mandarin lesson plans or preschool language curriculum preferred Warm, patient, reliable, and comfortable leading a group of young children Ability to make language learning fun, interactive, and age-appropriate Prior teaching, daycare, preschool, Montessori, or enrichment program experience is a plus
