TRINITY PRESCHOOL IS LOOKING
FOR.... We are looking for a Lead Teacher for our Pre-K Classroom! This is a year round position with the hours of Monday through Friday 8:00am-2:00pm with a 1/2 hour unpaid break with modified summer hours of 8:00am-12:00pm. There will be no school for winter and spring break.
JOB DESCRIPTION - PRESCHOOL LEAD TEACHER
The Lead Teacher is responsible for providing a safe and developmentally appropriate early childhood learning program in accordance with all relevant licensing standards from the State of Illinois and policies and procedures of Trinity Preschool. The Lead Teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing a program to teach young children. She/he must ensure the development and safety of these children. The Lead Teacher will be respectful of children and parents. Ensuring that equipment and facilities are clean, safe and well maintained is part of the job. Failure to provide adequate supervision may place children at risk. The Lead Teacher is a missionary of Trinity Lutheran Church and her/his primary work is to serve our (Trinity Preschool) families. Every day we are planting seeds and providing opportunities for the families to build a relationship with Jesus Christ. This part time position is Monday through Friday 8:00am-2:00pm while following the preschool calendar.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Must hold a CDA (Child Development Associates) or Associates Degree in Early Childhood, Child-Development-Family Studies or Elementary Education Degree with focus in Early Childhood •must have 6 semester hours of early childhood education• Must Pass Criminal History Background Check Must meet or working toward meeting Voluntary Accreditation staff education and experience. Possess at least 1-2 years' experience working with children. Must have strong communication, organization and detail skills. Must have the ability to relate to children, parents, staff members and volunteers. Must become CPR/First Aid Certified. Must complete Trinity Preschool required trainings with in established timeline. Must follow directions, have strong leadership skills, be self-motivated and possess knowledge of group work principals and processes. Must complete a new hire packet prior to first working day.
