Job Description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Implement a curriculum based on the developmental stages of the preschool aged child Work closely with the Preschool Coordinator Manage classroom behavior and program practices according to As We Grow Preschool guidelines Direct the work of the preschool Teacher Assistant Perform other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
High school graduate with a valid diploma and 21 years of age, with 60 hours of college credits, 6 credits of which are in Early Childhood Education One year experience working with preschool age children, with a special knowledge of children's physical, emotional and social developmental patterns Acquire CPR/AED and First Aid certification and keep current Complete a minimum of 15 hours continuing education credits per preschool year Ability to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances Statement acknowledging mandated reporter of child abuse status Understand and exhibit behavior consistent with stated values of the Park District Knowledge of DCFS guidelines ages 2-5 Level 1 ECE and/or Level 1 director qualified or ability to obtain certificate
