The KCC Lil Panthers Preschool Program is an early childhood ministry of Kansas City Christian School, serving ages 4-5 in a nurturing, Christ-centered environment. Our goal is to support each child's growth—spiritually, emotionally, socially, and academically—through hands-on learning experiences and meaningful relationships rooted in God's love.Job Summary:
KCC Lil' Panthers is seeking a dedicated, Christ-centered individual to serve as the Preschool Lead Teacher- 4s Room for our Lil Panthers Program. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education, has knowledge of licensing regulations, and is committed to fostering a safe, joyful, and spiritually enriching environment.Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum & Instruction Plan and implement age-appropriate, play-based, and faith-integrated curriculum and activities Create engaging and interactive lessons using a variety of methods including songs, storytelling, movement and art Observe and assess student development, communicating regularly with parents and the Preschool Director Using assessment data, plan and implement small group activities to engage students at all levels Provide guidance to assistant teachers and support staff in the classroom Licensing & Compliance Know and follow rules and regulations of state licensing Complete health and safety training and 16 hours of professional development training Classroom Management Establish and maintain a classroom environment that encourages learning, exploration and spiritual growth Promote a calm, organized, Christ-centered learning environment where every learner feels safe and is able to learn Promote positive behavior through modeling, setting clear expectations and using positive reinforcement Family Engagement & Communication Communicate consistently with parents about their child's progress and daily activities Build community within the classroom, preschool and greater school community Participate in preschool events, conferences, and school-wide events Health, Safety, & Environment Follow rules and regulations as defined by KDHE Provide a clean, organized and safe classroom for a community of children Collaboration Work effectively with other teachers, staff, and director to create a supportive and engaging learning environment Participate in team meetings and lesson planning with other teachers and Preschool Director Guide and lead Assistant Teacher and other staff Spiritual Engagement Reflect the love of Christ in actions, words, and care for each child Encourage students' social-emotional and spiritual development through calm and consistent interactions Model patience, kindness, and grace throughout the dayQualifications:
Associate degree or higher degree in Early childhood or similar field (preferred) Experience working with preschool-aged children in a group setting (preferred) CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire (required) Demonstrated ability to create a calm, supportive atmosphere for young children Strong personal commitment to Christian faith and alignment with the mission and values of Kansas City Christian School Active involvement in a local evangelical church Ability to work well as part of a team and follow directions from Preschool Director and administrators Reliable, flexible, and patient with a nurturing heart for young learnersCompensation and Benefits:
