Full Job Description Preschool Teacher Gioiosa Montessori Roeland Park, KS Pay:
Starting at $19/hour
Schedule:
Four 10-hour shifts (7:30 AM - 5:30 PM) with a rotating weekday off Gioiosa Montessori is seeking a Preschool Teacher to join our team. In our preschool room, we serve children ages 2.5-5 years in a Montessori-inspired environment that values respect, independence, curiosity, and meaningful relationships. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with young children, can manage a busy classroom environment, and is committed to supporting children's development through observation, guidance, and purposeful engagement. Responsibilities Meet all state licensing requirements and classroom standards Implement company policies and procedures consistently Support positive classroom management and guide children's behavior respectfully Implement lesson plans and classroom activities Use Brightwheel to document student information, observations, incidents, and parent communication Observe and understand children's development across the five key developmental domains: cognitive, language, social, emotional, physical Communicate children's progress effectively with families and coworkers, both verbally and in writing Maintain strong situational awareness and actively supervise children at all times Prioritize tasks appropriately in the classroom environment Demonstrate effective time management and multitasking skills Direct float and coverage teachers to ensure the classroom operates smoothly at all times. Approach children, families, and coworkers with professionalism, respect, and empathy Apply Montessori principles throughout daily interactions and classroom practices Qualifications Experience working with young children in a preschool, childcare, or educational setting preferred Ability to work independently while collaborating as part of a team Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to remain calm, attentive, and responsive throughout the day Commitment to creating a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment What We're Looking For This position is a good fit for someone who understands that teaching preschool is more than supervising children.
