This is a hands-on role focused on safety, responsive caregiving, early development, and building trusting relationships with both children and families during a critical stage of growth. Key Responsibilities Provide attentive, nurturing care that supports each child's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development. Maintain a safe, clean, and developmentally appropriate environment, including childproofing and constant supervision — infants this age are newly mobile and curious. Plan and lead age-appropriate activities that encourage emerging skills: walking, early language, sensory exploration, fine and gross motor play, and independence. Follow individualized routines for feeding, diapering, napping, and the transition from bottles and purees to table foods and self-feeding. Support children through separation anxiety and help them feel secure and comforted throughout the day. Observe and document developmental milestones; communicate daily updates to parents. Build positive, professional partnerships with families and share progress and concerns respectfully. Maintain accurate records (attendance, incident reports, daily sheets) and follow all licensing and ratio requirements. Collaborate with co-teachers and assist with cleaning, sanitizing, and classroom upkeep. What Success Looks Like in This Role Builds secure attachments. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; CDA, associate's, or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred. Prior experience caring for infants or toddlers in a licensed setting preferred. Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Knowledge of infant/toddler development and safe sleep practices. Ability to pass background checks and meet state licensing requirements. Calm under pressure and able to manage multiple needs at once.
