Infant/Toddler Teacher Job Description:
Reports toCenter Director Position Summary:
The Infant/Toddler Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children ages 0-2. This role focuses on supporting each child's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through age-appropriate activities, routines, and individualized care. The ideal candidate is compassionate, patient, and passionate about early childhood education.Key Responsibilities:
Provide attentive care to infants and toddlers, including feeding, diapering, toileting, and nap routines. Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that encourage exploration, learning, and creativity. Observe and tailor learning to each child's growth, behavior, and milestones. Build positive relationships with children, families, and team members to support each child's well-being. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment, following all licensing and health regulations. Support language, motor, and social development through guided play, sensory experiences, and interactive activities. Communicate regularly with families regarding their child's progress and daily routines. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and center events as needed.Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age High school diploma or equivalent required; Child Development Associate (CDA) or Early Childhood Education degree preferred. Experience working with infants and toddlers in a childcare or early education setting preferred. Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate practices preferred. Experience with the childcare management software, Brightwheel, preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work as part of a team and independently. CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.Working Conditions:
Full-time position in a classroom setting with active engagement with young children. Requires lifting and carrying children, bending, and sitting on the floor for extended periods.
