Job Description

This job is for the 26-27 School year, August - May. The hours are 11:30-5:30 M-F. Overview Join our vibrant team as an After-School Childcare Teacher and become a positive influence in children's lives! In this dynamic role, you will create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children after school hours. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help foster their growth, creativity, and social skills while ensuring their well-being. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact while developing your skills in childhood education and child development. Responsibilities Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, and social interaction Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management strategies and positive reinforcement Maintain open communication with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns Ensure adherence to safety protocols, including first aid procedures and emergency response plans Support children with special needs by implementing individualized strategies in collaboration with specialists when necessary Experience Prior experience working with children in educational, daycare, camp, or babysitting settings is highly desirable Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development best practices Skills in classroom management and behavior management techniques to foster a positive environment Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; training can be provided if needed Experience with special education or working with children with diverse needs is a plus Ability to engage children through creative activities such as theater, sports coaching, or arts and crafts Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with parents, colleagues, and children Embark on a rewarding journey where your energy and compassion will inspire young minds!
