•Friday, 8:15am to 3:45pm This role is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment where infants can grow and thrive. The Teacher designs and delivers individualized, developmentally appropriate curriculum informed by child observations, assessment data, and family input. Through responsive caregiving and strong partnerships, the Teacher supports positive outcomes for children and families while ensuring consistent supervision and full compliance with all program policies and federal, state, and local standards. Essential Functions Create a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment. Plan and implement individualized curriculum based on observations, assessments, and family input. Use the Pyramid Model to support social-emotional development. Conduct developmental screenings, track progress, and support early intervention referrals as needed. Partner with families through daily communication, conferences, and home visits. Collaborate with co-teachers, specialists, and Family Support staff. Ensure active supervision and maintain a clean, organized classroom. Use positive discipline strategies to guide behavior. Maintain accurate documentation (attendance, assessments, incidents, meal counts). Participate in trainings, coaching, and ongoing professional development. Competencies Strong communication and teamwork skills. Bilingual (Spanish, Haitian Creole, or Cape Verdean Creole) a plus. Work Environment Works indoors and outdoors as needed. Mandated reporter; must maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times. Physical Demands Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and actively engage with children throughout the day. Required Qualifications EEC Teacher Certification required. CDA or equivalent with infant/toddler focus required for Early Head Start. At least 2 years of experience working with diverse children and families. Preferred Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education or related field.
