To Be Determined Job Description KIA Substitutes (Preschool•Grade 5) The Kids In Action Substitute provides flexible, as-needed support within the Kids In Action. This role ensures continuity of care and supervision for students when regular staff are absent. The substitute helps maintain a safe, engaging, and structured environment while assisting with daily program activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of the children, be alert to the needs of the children as individuals and as a group. Help to execute developmentally appropriate activities in the following areas; STEM, Arts & Crafts, Homework, Group Games, Outside & Gym activities, Music and Dramatic Play. Help children to engage in activities with others Keep all Kids In Action spaces clean, neat and organized. Support positive behavior management using program guidelines Communicate effectively with staff and follow direction from the Team Leader. Follow all school and program policies, including safety and emergency procedures
Qualifications:
High School Diploma Experience working with children (preferred) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to be flexible, adaptable, and work on short notice Positive attitude and ability to engage children in activities Must be reliable and punctual CPR/First Aid certification (preferred)
Physcial Requirments:
Ability to stand, walk, and actively engage with children for extended periods Ability to participate in indoor and outdoor activities Physically able to lift items up to 20lbs.
