To Be Determined Job Description The Petersham Montessori School is seeking a dedicated, flexible, and creative Preschool Lead Teacher for our Primary Montessori classroom (ages 2.9-6). Located in the beautiful rural town of Petersham, MA, our school fosters a nurturing, alternative learning environment where children are encouraged to explore, grow, and thrive. The Lead Teacher will work under the current Head of School. This position offers the exciting possibility of growing into the Head of School role. We are seeking not only a strong educator, but also a committed team member who can work with the Board of Directors to help guide the vision of the school, build on its strong reputation, and support efforts to increase enrollment.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 7:45 AM-2:45 PM
Full Time:
35 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver creative, developmentally appropriate Montessori lessons
  • Guide children in a warm, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment
  • Observe, assess, and document student progress
  • Communicate regularly with families and staff
  • Collaborate with the Head of School on curriculum and school development
  • Attend monthly staff/board meetings and school events (Open House, Fundraisers)
  • Support long-term goals of the school and potential leadership transition
