Job Overview Join us as a Summer Camp Assistant and become a vital part of creating an engaging, safe, and nurturing environment for children during their summer adventures! In this energetic role, you will support camp activities, assist with supervision, and help foster a positive atmosphere that promotes growth, learning, and fun. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with children of diverse backgrounds while developing your skills in education, childcare, and leadership. Duties Support lead instructors in organizing and executing daily camp activities, including sports, arts and crafts, theater, and outdoor games Supervise children during free play, meals, rest periods, and structured activities to ensure safety and positive behavior management Assist with classroom management techniques to promote respectful interactions and inclusive participation Provide basic first aid when necessary and follow safety protocols to handle minor injuries or incidents promptly Engage children in educational activities that support childhood development and early childhood education principles Foster a supportive environment by encouraging teamwork, kindness, and counseling values where applicable Help maintain a clean, organized camp environment by assisting with setup, cleanup, and equipment management Drive children in company vehicles to all field trips Requirements Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, tutoring, babysitting, or camp programs is highly desirable Knowledge of classroom management strategies and behavior management techniques Certification in first aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain prior to start date) Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with children of various ages and backgrounds Passion for childcare, early childhood education, or related fields such as special education or childhood development Ability to remain energetic, flexible, and positive throughout busy camp days Must hold a valid drivers license with good driving history This paid Summer Camp Assistant position provides a dynamic environment where your enthusiasm makes a difference! A full background check and clearance must be issued prior to the first date of employment.
