The Classroom Aide supports teachers in creating a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment for young children. This role assists with classroom activities, supervision, daily routines, and helping children learn and grow throughout the day. How this role contributes to the Y's mission: Support the lead teacher with classroom activities and daily routines Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment Supervise children during classroom activities, playtime, meals, and transitions Encourage positive behavior and help children develop social and learning skills Assist with setting up learning materials, toys, and classroom centers Help clean and sanitize toys, tables, chairs, and common classroom areas Greet children and families in a friendly and welcoming manner Communicate with teachers, families, and staff as needed Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and special events Complete basic classroom documentation and reports as assigned Follow all Y policies, safety procedures, and OCC regulations Perform other duties as assigned This work is right for you if you have: Enjoy working with young children Positive attitude and teamwork skills Ability to maintain a safe and nurturing environment Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to follow directions and support classroom teachers All Y associates agree to abide by The Code of Conduct with Youth that sets clear expectations for associates and volunteers to ensure a safe and respectful environment for young people. Additionally, associates and volunteers must complete training on child abuse prevention and comply with legal reporting requirements to safeguard youth.
