$20.00 - $24.00 per hour Job description: About Us We are a new, high-quality early childhood education center dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for preschool and pre-kindergarten children. We believe every child deserves caring teachers, meaningful learning experiences, and opportunities to grow academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. Our goal is to foster a love of learning through developmentally appropriate activities, hands-on exploration, and positive relationships. We partner with families to support each child's unique needs and help build a strong foundation for lifelong success. Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Lead Pre-K Teacher to plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum while creating a positive classroom community that's supports the growth and development of children ages 3-5 Responsibilities Develop and implement weekly lesson plans aligned with the Maryland Early Learning Standards. Create engaging learning centers and classroom environments that promote exploration, creativity, and school readiness. Maintain a safe, healthy, and welcoming classroom environment for all children. Conduct ongoing observations and assessments to monitor children's growth and development. Communicate regularly with families regarding children's progress, classroom activities, and center events. Maintain accurate attendance records, assessment documentation, and classroom files. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and ongoing professional development opportunities. Ensure compliance with all Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) Office of Child Care regulations, policies, and licensing requirements. Foster positive social-emotional development and guide children using developmentally appropriate practices. Collaborate with colleagues and administrators to support program goals and continuous improvement. Required Qualifications Candidates must meet Maryland Office of Childcare requirements for a Pre-K Teacher and have one of the followings Child Developments Associate (CDA) 90 Hour Preschool Associate Development Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field Required Training 45-Hour child growth and Development 45- Hour Curriculum Pediatric CPR Certification Pediatric First Aid Certification Child Abuse and Neglect Training Emergency Preparedness Health and safety Training 9 Hours Communication skills 3 Hours Including All Children and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Additional Requirements Minimum 1 year experience working in a licensed childcare center or preschool Ability to pass Maryland State and FBI background check Medical examination and health clearance Child Protective Services clearance Strong communication and organizational skills Benefits Competitive Pay Paid Holidays Paid Time Off Professional Development Opportunities Supportive Leadership To Apply Send resume to debra@valleyplayschool.com
