Job Description

Job Summary The Child Care Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for children. This role supports children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth while ensuring compliance with Maryland state licensing regulations. Key Responsibilities Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff Observe and document children's development and progress Communicate effectively with parents regarding daily activities and concerns Maintain required staff-to-child ratios per state regulations Assist with meals, diapering, toileting, and daily routines Participate in staff meetings and ongoing training
Qualifications:
Must meet requirements set by the Maryland State Department of Education Minimum age: 18 years old High school diploma or GED (required) Child Care Teacher certification or coursework (preferred/required depending on position) Experience working with young children (preferred) Required Certifications CPR and First Aid certification Completion of required pre-service training per Maryland regulations Background check and fingerprinting clearance Health screening and TB test Skills & Abilities Strong communication and interpersonal skills Patience, reliability, and a nurturing attitude Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment Understanding of early childhood development Work Environment Active classroom setting (standing, lifting, bending required) May involve lifting children (up to 40 lbs) Indoor and outdoor supervision required

$16.00 - $20.00 per hour
