The Upper Marlboro Community Center is seeking an enthusiastic, caring, and dependable Part - Time Preschool Teacher to join our early childhood education team. Miller@Pgparks.com . Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities. Foster children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing classroom environment. Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities. Communicate effectively with parents and staff. Follow all licensing regulations, policies, and procedures Required Must be at least 18 years of age Knowledge of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practices. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Must successfully complete all required background checks and meet Maryland childcare licensing requirements. Preferred 90-Hour Child Care Certification Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Act as a role model by displaying positive and courteous behaviors that children will admire and want to emulate Maintain awareness of children's needs Observe safety principles and work in a safe manner Organize and prioritize a variety of tasks in an effective and timely manner, for self and others Current certification in First Aid and CPR (infant/child and adult), or able to become so certified within 60 days of hire (current certifications must be maintained throughout employment) Occasionally lift, drag, and push files, paper, and equipment weighing 25 pounds or more May be subject to drug and alcohol testing.
