Summer Early Childhood Teacher

Job Description:

The Katherine Thomas School, located in Rockville, MD, is a special education school that serves students with language, learning, and sensory motor disabilities and moderate to high functioning autism. KTS has an opening for a summer teacher to work with a few early childhood students working on their academic and social emotional goals and objectives. July 1st through August 7th, not July 3rd. The hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:45-1:15 and Thursday 8:45-3:15 EOE Rate is $43-$44 per hour, depending on experience and education

Responsibilities of the Teacher include: Develop instruction following the MD State Curriculum providing necessary accommodation to meet individual, group, and program needs Be an expert at modifying grade level curriculum for all students Write and implement IEPs Create a supportive learning environment Supervise TAs Work collaboratively with team members

Experience and Skills:

Required experience and education for the

Teacher:

MUST have a Bachelors Degree in Special Education Maryland Special Education Teaching Certificate Experience with students on the Autism spectrum preferred Team Oriented Reliable Professional Attitude At least 2 years teaching experience
