Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and experienced Preschool Lead Teacher to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, classroom management, and curriculum development. This role involves guiding preschool students through developmental milestones, fostering literacy and numeracy skills, and supporting social-emotional growth. The Preschool Lead Teacher will collaborate with staff to implement educational programs that promote a love of learning and ensure child welfare and safety at all times. Duties Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including Montessori methods if applicable. Lead daily classroom activities, including lesson planning, instruction, and assessment of student progress. Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management strategies to create a positive learning environment. Support children's development in areas such as literacy, math, physical education, and social skills through engaging activities. Monitor individual student progress through observations and standardized testing when necessary; adjust teaching strategies accordingly. Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate student progress, address concerns, and support child welfare. Facilitate inclusive education practices, including experience with special education needs and early intervention strategies. Ensure safety protocols are followed to maintain a secure environment for children at all times. Maintain accurate records of attendance, developmental milestones, and lesson plans in compliance with licensing requirements. Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in childhood development, classroom management, and curriculum innovation. Qualifications Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings; prior classroom management experience is essential. Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, literacy education, math instruction, and behavior management techniques. Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, and implementing educational standards such as Montessori or other early childhood frameworks. Background in special education or early intervention is preferred. Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, staff, and community partners. Familiarity with standardized testing procedures relevant to early childhood assessment. Ability to manage a classroom effectively while fostering an inclusive environment that promotes learning through play and exploration. Certification or degree in early childhood education or related field is required; additional training in special education or Montessori methods is a plus.
