Overview Golden Sun Childcare is a locally owned and operated childcare organization serving children and families throughout the Blue Hill Peninsula area. Duties (Dependent on Role Chosen) Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that incorporate early childhood education principles, including literacy, math, physical activity, and social skills. Plan and execute engaging lesson plans tailored to diverse learning styles and developmental stages, including toddler care and preschool activities. Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement strategies and clear expectations to create a safe and nurturing environment. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share progress updates, discuss developmental concerns, and foster strong home-school partnerships. Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate documentation of children's progress, incidents, and attendance records. Incorporate special education strategies and early intervention techniques to support children with additional needs or developmental delays. Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that promotes safety, learning, and child welfare at all times. Qualifications No experience needed if willing to learn and undergo background test and fingerprinting• Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, including daycare or preschool environments. Knowledge of childhood development stages, classroom management techniques, and behavior management strategies. Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, and teaching physical education or Montessori methods is preferred. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; knowledge of mandated reporting laws is essential.(We can help acquire this, not required in order to start) Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners. Experience with special education practices, early intervention programs, or standardized testing is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to create inclusive learning environments that support diverse learners' needs.
