Job Description

Catherine Morrill Day Nursery (CMDN) is a great place to work in the field of early care and education. We are seeking an experienced Preschool Teacher to work in one of our preschool classrooms with children from 3-5 years of age. As a Teacher, you will work in collaboration with the Lead Teacher and Floaters, helping to plan activities, monitor health and safety and observe and document child development. We are looking for just the right person to become part of our legacy serving children and families in the Greater Portland community for over 100 years. We are seeking an energetic, responsible, fun and caring professional to become part of our team. The successful candidate will have experience in classroom management, a keen understanding of ages and stages, experience monitoring children's health & safety, and experience assessing children's development. Excellent written and oral communication skills required for maintaining strong relationships with families. Knowledge using the Teaching Strategies Gold assessment system is a plus.
We are a nationally-accredited program:
knowledge and experience with the NAEYC accreditation process is a plus. A Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field is preferred. Starting rate of pay will be determined by MRTQ level as well as years of experience. We offer an excellent benefits package with generous paid time off. Fingerprinting required prior to start date.
