Job Description

Job Summary Join our vibrant early childhood education team as a Daycare Assistant, where your enthusiasm and dedication will help create a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment for young children. In this role, you will support lead teachers in implementing developmental activities, ensuring each child's needs are met with care and professionalism. Your energy and compassion will contribute to fostering a positive atmosphere that promotes learning, growth, and joy for every child in our care. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children while gaining valuable experience in early childhood education. Duties Assist lead teachers in planning and executing age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development and learning. Support children with daily routines such as meal times, diaper changes, naps, and hygiene practices, ensuring safety and comfort at all times. Engage children in play-based learning experiences that encourage social skills, creativity, and cognitive development. Monitor children's behavior and provide positive guidance to foster good conduct and emotional regulation. Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment by sanitizing toys, surfaces, and materials regularly. Observe and document children's progress, communicating any concerns or notable achievements to supervising staff. Follow all mandated reporting laws and health & safety protocols to ensure compliance and protect the well-being of children. Skills Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices. Experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying or similar settings. Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies. Certification in first aid and pediatric first aid to respond effectively to emergencies. Ability to work with individuals with disabilities or special needs using inclusive teaching methods. Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members, parents, and caregivers effectively. Understanding of mandated reporting laws related to child safety and protection.
