Afternoon infant assistant (10am-6pm or 2pm -6pm)

About us Mudpies and Lullabies is a small family owned child care and early learning center located in Chelsea, MI We are currently in the process of expanding enrollment in our infant classroom, and are looking for a warm, caring, professional individual who loves to play and who genuinely loves children. All candidates for this position must be at least 18 years old, and be available Monday through Friday from 2pm-6pm. Pay range for this position will be determined based on education, qualifications, and years of experience. Must be reliable and live within a reasonable distance to Chelsea, MI, as well as be able to pass state required background checks. Unfortunately we are not able to accept candidates needing to bring their own child(ren) with them at this time. Responsibilities Assist in a careful and creative program suitable for infants Diapering and feeding Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.) to teach children Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.) Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times Communicate with parents regularly Collaborate with other educators Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards Skills Proven experience with children Understanding of the principles of child development Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms Excellent communication and instructional skills Ability to act as mediator between children Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable

Pay:

$15.00 per hour
