Duties Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum that promotes early childhood development, literacy, math, physical education, and social skills. Create a safe, welcoming classroom environment that encourages curiosity and independence among children. Manage daily classroom activities, including lesson planning, circle time, play-based learning, and structured activities tailored to various developmental stages. Support children with special needs through individualized instruction and collaboration with specialists in early intervention and special education. Monitor child behavior using positive behavior management techniques to foster respectful interactions and emotional regulation. Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones through meetings, reports, and updates. Maintain compliance with mandated reporting laws and ensure adherence to health and safety standards including first aid and CPR certification. Requirements Proven experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings. Knowledge of child development principles, classroom management strategies, and curriculum development techniques. Experience with special education needs, early intervention programs, and literacy education methodologies. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with parents, colleagues, and external specialists. Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate Montessori or other educational philosophies as applicable. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; ongoing professional development in childhood welfare is preferred. Familiarity with mandated reporting laws and child safety protocols.
