Job Description

Position Summary:
We are seeking a caring, energetic, and reliable Assistant Teacher to support the day-to-day operations of our childcare classroom. The Assistant Teacher will work closely with the Lead Teacher to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where young children can thrive emotionally, socially, physically, and intellectually.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Lead Teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and classroom activities. Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times. Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment. Encourage positive interactions and help guide children's behavior using appropriate techniques. Help with diapering, toileting, feeding, and other care routines as needed. Observe and document children's progress and behavior, sharing insights with the teaching team. Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and required professional development. Follow all center policies and procedures, including health, safety, and licensing regulations and any other duties assigned.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; coursework or certification in Early Childhood Education preferred. Prior experience working with young children in a childcare or preschool setting is highly desirable. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical activities associated with child care. Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. Passion for working with children and supporting their development.
Work Environment:
Classroom-based within a licensed childcare facility. Fast-paced and physically active environment. Requires patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
Pay:
From $14.00 per hour
