Ability to work cooperatively with team members and train assistant teachers Prefer, but not mandatory, previous teaching or assistant teaching position in an early learning center, high quality preschool, child care center or church nursery Prefer, but not mandatory, CDA, associate or higher-level degree related to early childhood, child development, preschool, family sciences or elementary education. Lead caregivers for infants and toddlers shall have 3 semester hours or 4.5 CEUs in infant/toddler development and care practices. Current First Aid, Infant/Child CPR Certification, and Bloodborne Pathogens training. Knowledge as a parent or in previous work experience of the social and emotional needs of children. Ability to lift to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.

Responsibilities :

Responsible for the overall daily supervision and care of the children. Assess each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis. Ability to relate positively with young children, and adults. Maintain a safe and nurturing classroom. Knowledge of child development and best practices ages 0-3. Plan and implement the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule using our research-based curriculum outline and materials. Using the playground as an extension of our classrooms, implementing and engaging in playground activities daily. Conduct parent-teacher conferences and infant/toddler milestones. Provide an attractive, safe, nurturing and clean classroom that encourages creativity and exploration. Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas and playgrounds. Assists and coordinates snacks, meals, nap time and bathroom/diapering activities. Maintain professional attitude and work behavior. A demonstrated ability to interact positively with parents and children in a non-judgmental, respectful manner. Attend all required staff meetings and/or school functions as determined by the Director.
