Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a Daycare Assistant to join our team at Mason Christian Child Care Center (MCCCC), which is located inside the Mason First United Methodist Church. In this role, you will support the development and well-being of young children by assisting the lead teachers in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment. Responsibilities Interact with children in a warm, positive, and supportive manner Supervise activities as directed by the lead teacher Support children during daily routines such as feeding, diapering, nap time, and outdoor play Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment: keep materials in order, floors and tables clean Check daily lesson plan and become familiar with scheduled activities and routines Prepare a daily record to communicate with parents about their child's activities Attend staff and in-service training as requested by the program director Comply with the MCCCC policies and procedures General Requirements Teaching assistants must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent Previous experience with children is desired; references and letters of recommendation or work experience will be considered Assistants must have a philosophy of early childhood education that is compatible with MCCCC's curriculum and policies Must complete trainings as required by licensing Physical requirements include being able to sit on the floor to work with children and being able to lift and carry children of up to 50 lbs The MCCCC daycare center is open Monday to Friday, 7 am to 6 pm; employees are given consistent hours each week within that time frame.
