Job Description

Job Summary A Child Care Worker is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. This position supports children's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development through age-appropriate activities, positive guidance, and daily care routines. The Child Care Worker works closely with families and team members to ensure high-quality care and compliance with all licensing regulations. Essential Duties/ Responsibilities Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times. Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development. Assist children with daily routines, including meals, snacks, toileting, handwashing, and rest periods. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment. Observe and document children's progress, behaviors, and developmental milestones. Use positive behavior management techniques to encourage appropriate behavior. Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's day, progress, and concerns. Follow all childcare licensing regulations, health and safety policies, and center procedures. Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities. Assist with classroom preparation, lesson planning, and special events. Respond appropriately to emergencies, accidents, and incidents. Promote a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment for all children and families. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Previous childcare experience required. CPR and First Aid Certification Ability to pass required background checks and fingerprinting. Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate practices preferred. Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Ability to sit, stand, bend, and move frequently throughout the day. Ability to actively engage with children during indoor and outdoor activities. Skills/ Competencies Patience and compassion when working with children. Strong supervision and classroom management skills. Dependability and professionalism.
