Job Description
Overview Join our early childhood education team as a Daycare Teacher, where your passion for nurturing young minds will help shape the future! In this dynamic role, you will create a safe, engaging, and educational environment for children in our care. Your enthusiasm and dedication will foster growth, curiosity, and a love of learning in every child you work with. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact while developing your skills in childhood development and classroom management at LSU. Responsibilities Design and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote early literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional development. Foster a positive classroom atmosphere through effective behavior management and classroom management techniques. Support children's individual needs by applying principles of special education and early intervention strategies. Engage children in activities that enhance their cognitive, motor, and social skills, including Montessori or other educational approaches. Maintain a safe and clean environment by adhering to childcare regulations and health standards. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns. Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum development initiatives and participate in ongoing training related to childhood development and preschool experience. Skills Strong knowledge of childhood development theories and practices, including early childhood education standards. Experience working with children of various ages, especially toddlers and preschoolers. Proficiency in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques. Familiarity with special education needs, early intervention programs, and behavior management strategies. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members. Ability to implement standardized testing methods when assessing developmental progress or academic achievement. Knowledge of Montessori methods or other educational philosophies such as literacy education or teaching physical education. Experience in childcare settings or private schools is highly valued.
