Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher Assistant to support classroom activities and foster a positive learning environment for young children. This role involves assisting lead teachers in implementing educational programs, managing classroom behavior, and supporting children's social and emotional development. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education, experience working with children, and a strong understanding of childhood development principles, including special education and behavior management strategies. Responsibilities Assist lead teachers in planning and executing age-appropriate lesson plans focused on literacy, math, and overall curriculum development. Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and implementing behavior management techniques. Provide individualized attention to children, including toddlers and children with disabilities or special needs such as autism. Help create an inclusive environment that accommodates children with diverse learning needs, including Montessori or daycare settings. Engage children in educational activities that promote social skills, early childhood development, and foundational literacy and numeracy skills. Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring safety at all times. Support classroom organization, including setting up materials for lessons and maintaining a clean learning environment. Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to support children's progress and well-being. Assist with curriculum implementation tailored to preschool or private school standards, including working with children with disabilities or behavioral challenges. Requirements Prior experience working with young children in settings such as daycare, preschool, private schools, or Montessori programs. Knowledge of early childhood education principles, childhood development, and classroom management techniques. Experience with special education, behavior management, working with children with autism or disabilities preferred. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and students. Ability to assist in lesson planning for literacy education, math activities, and curriculum development tailored to preschool-aged children. Familiarity with toddler care, daycare routines, and working with diverse student populations including those with special needs. Certification or training in early childhood education or related fields is a plus but not mandatory.
