(Purpose of the Position): The NCCC works to support Northfield students pursuing post-secondary education by offering a wide variety of student support services, including childcare. The NCCC intentionally focuses on meeting the educational needs of recent Northfield High School alumni, especially students of color, those from low-income families, and those who are first-generation college attendees. The NCCC Childcare Specialist provides childcare while students attend evening classes. Additionally, they will be asked to support various capacity-building projects as needed.Transferable Skills:

Conflict-resolution Duties and Responsibilities:
- Determine a weekly schedule working at the NCCC Student Center
- Provide childcare while students attend evening classes
- Communicate regularly with NCCC staff regarding any childcare concerns and needs
- Contribute to NCCC marketing by reviewing plans, distributing posters to local coffee shops, etc.
- Office clerical duties including but not limited to data entry, preparing parent/family outreach mailings, type/summarize meeting notes, research information for program use, and other clerical duties as assigned, as time permits
- Punctual, reliable attendance at all assigned shifts
- Preferably available 5:45 - 9:00 p.m. any night Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, and other afternoon/evening times as agreed upon in advance
- Shifts may be regularly assigned, or on an as-needed/substitute basis.
Qualifications:
(Education/Experience/Skills)- Strong communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Expected to be comfortable working with students of diverse backgrounds
- Experience working with children preferred
- Bilingual (Spanish or Somali speaking skills) preferred
