Responsibilities Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that support early childhood development, including literacy, math, physical education, and social skills. Create a safe, welcoming classroom environment that encourages curiosity and independence among children. Manage classroom activities with effective behavior management techniques to promote positive interactions and discipline. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns. Plan engaging lessons and activities tailored to various developmental stages, including toddlers, preschoolers, and children with special needs. Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate records of children's progress and incidents. Incorporate best practices in child welfare, early intervention strategies, and Montessori or other educational philosophies as applicable. Requirements Proven experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings. Knowledge of child development principles, classroom management techniques, and behavior management strategies. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with parents, colleagues, and administrators. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional credentials in special education or early intervention are a plus. Familiarity with curriculum development, standardized testing for young children, and literacy education methods. Experience teaching physical education or tutoring young learners is desirable. Ability to follow mandated reporting laws diligently and uphold child safety standards at all times.
