No weekends. 1. Daycare Teacher /Childcare Assistant Pay:
$14-$18/hour (based on experience)Job Type:
Full-Time and Part-Time available — Training provided What You Will Do Support your Lead Teacher in a fun, engaging classroom Help guide children through routines, play, and learning Maintain a safe, clean, licensed classroom Build positive relationships with kids, families, and teammates Show up as a professional, team-oriented educator What We Are Looking For At least 18 years old Eligible for or currently on the ECP Practitioner Registry (Level 1+) CPR/First Aid certified, or willing to obtain — we help Able to lift up to 45 lbs and stay active with kids Reliable, kind, and willing to learn New to childcare? If you have the heart and work ethic, we will train the rest. 2. Childcare Support Staff - Kitchen & Afterschool A split role supporting both our Afterschool Program and Kitchen Operations. Ideal for someone who loves working with children and also enjoys preparing nutritious meals in a structured, professional environment.Position Overview Afterschool Program Support:
Mentor school-age children, assist with homework, and lead engaging activities based on your talents and interests — art, sports, dance, STEM, or creative play.Kitchen Support:
Assist in meal preparation and kitchen operations, ensuring food is prepared safely and meets licensing and health department standards. Afterschool Responsibilities Mentor and supervise school-age children Assist students with homework Lead structured and creative activities Maintain a safe and engaging environment Foster positive relationships with students and families Uphold program policies and behavioral expectations Kitchen Responsibilities Assist with preparing and serving meals in accordance with Licensing and Health Department regulations Follow safe food preparation and sanitation procedures Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and dining area Ensure proper serving sizes and food safety standards Monitor food allergies and communicate necessary information to staff Support menu implementation and notify the Director of any necessary changes Assist with state reviews and health inspections Maintain accurate records and documentation as required Monitor kitchen equipment and report maintenance needs Uphold all licensing and risk management requirements Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of experience preparing meals preferred Understanding of safe food handling and sanitation practices Strong communication, organization, and basic math skills Respect and genuine care for young children and families Ability to work collaboratively with team members ServSafe certification preferred Ability to meet licensing background and training requirements Reliable transportation Important Note Afterschool duties are located at Shepherd Schools, not at The Sunshine Academy center. 3. Substitute Support Staff Substitute Support Staff are responsible for providing flexible classroom coverage across all age groups. This position supports Lead Teachers and Assistant Teachers by maintaining supervision, ratios, safety, cleanliness, and consistency of routines. Substitute staff do not plan curriculum or lessons and work under the direction of classroom teaching staff and administration.Supervisors:
Lead Teachers, Assistant Teachers, Director Minimum Qualifications & Requirements Minimum of 18 years old Minimum membership on the ECP Practitioner Registry Current certification for infant, child, and adult CPR; infant choking response; and standard and pediatric first aid (hands-on training required) Complete facility overview training Current on the ECP Practitioner Registry Successfully complete required early childhood staff orientation within 30 days of hire Able to lift 45 pounds Able to easily maneuver up and down from the floor Sufficient language skills to communicate with children and adults Able to demonstrate good moral character Able to demonstrate they are physically, emotionally, and mentally capable of performing the essential functions of the position Current on MMR and Tetanus immunizations Training Requirements Complete required training hours to stay current on the ECP Practitioner Registry Completion of any training required by The Sunshine Academy Job Duties — Supervision Ensure safety protocols are implemented and followed by children and staff Report any unsafe situations immediately to Lead Teachers, Assistant Teachers, or Director Ensure teacher/child ratios are maintained Provide active supervision (being seen and heard) Never leave a child alone or unattended Provide classroom coverage during breaks, absences, or transitions Classroom Support & Interactions with Children Support daily classroom routines and schedules as directed Implement activities and guidance strategies planned by classroom staff Assist with toileting, diapering, handwashing, and hygiene routines Provide positive child guidance using Sunshine Academy approved techniques Support conflict resolution using age-appropriate mediation Encourage independence, self-help, self-regulation, and coping skills Assist with meals, snacks, rest time, and transitions Provide positive attention when children are behaving well Employee Relations Work collaboratively with Lead Teachers and Assistant Teachers Model professionalism, respect, and integrity Maintain open communication with classroom staff and Director Maintain employee confidentiality Licensing Requirements Support all Montana licensing regulations Assist in emergency drills and safety procedures Ensure Health Department requirements are followed Miscellaneous Duties Uphold all Sunshine Academy policies and procedures Maintain a clean environment Attend staff meetings Complete other duties as assigned General Work Habits Reliable attendance Punctual Maintains a gossip- and drama-free work environment Maintains good personal hygiene and professional practices 4.Full-Time Cook Job Type:
Full-Time | No nights, no weekends The Sunshine Academy is hiring a dedicated Full-Time Cook to lead daily meal preparation in our licensed childcare kitchen. This position is responsible for preparing nutritious meals and snacks for the children in our care while maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment that meets all licensing and Health Department standards. Full-Time | No nights, no weekends This full-time position combines flexible classroom floating with the responsibility of keeping our facility clean, organized, and well-maintained. The Float / Janitor provides classroom coverage as needed throughout the day and ensures The Sunshine Academy meets the highest standards of cleanliness and safety required by Montana licensing and the Health Department.
