Preschool Teacher Infinite Horizons Center Billings, MT Job Details Full-time $17 - $20 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications School experience CPR Certification Working with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) Working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders Working with individuals with autism Special education for preschool students Classroom experience Teaching students with autism spectrum disorder Lesson planning Teaching experience with young children Classroom Teaching Working with individuals with neurological conditions Full Job Description Position Summary The Preschool Teacher is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing a developmentally appropriate, inclusive classroom environment that supports the learning and growth of children of all abilities, including children with autism and other developmental differences. The teacher provides classroom leadership, supervises teaching staff, and ensures compliance with Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) licensing standardsand the organization's mission of inclusive education. Key Responsibilities Curriculum & Instruction Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with Montana Early Learning Standards and the organization's inclusive mission. Adapt curriculum to meet the developmental needs of all children, including those receiving ABA and related therapies. Foster an inclusive, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment. Support individualized education and intervention strategies in collaboration with therapists and specialists. Classroom Leadership Provide daily leadership and supervision for assistant teachers and classroom aides. Model best practices in inclusive teaching and positive behavior support. Ensure classrooms are safe, welcoming, and aligned with health and safety requirements. Maintain an effective teacher-to-child ratio in accordance with Montana licensing standards. Child Development & Family Engagement Support children's social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Monitor developmental progress and communicate regularly with families about child growth and milestones. Promote an inclusive culture where families feel welcome and supported. Compliance & Professionalism Ensure classroom practices comply with Montana DPHHS childcare licensing regulations. Complete accurate attendance, progress notes, and incident reports. Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policy. Participate in ongoing professional development and required training. Qualifications Minimum of 1 year experience working with neurotypical and/or neurodivergent kids (required). Minimum of 1 year of classroom teaching experience in early childhood or preschool. Knowledge of Montana DPHHS licensing standards and early childhood best practices. Strong understanding of inclusive education and experience working with children with disabilities. CPR/First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain). Must pass Montana DPHHS background checks and meet childcare health/safety requirements. Physical & Work Requirements Ability to work at the child's level (kneeling, sitting on the floor, lifting up to 50 lbs). Ability to actively supervise and interact in an energetic classroom environment.
Pay:
$17.00 - $20.00 per hour
