Job Description
The ideal preferred candidate would meet the following qualifications : A commitment to the Christian faith, with a love of Christ and a desire to share that love with children and their families. Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education; candidates with other credentials, such as a degree in Elementary Education, an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, or a Child Development Associate Certification, may be considered. Two years of teaching experience in a similar preschool teaching environment. A desire and ability to nurture the whole child, spiritually, emotionally, physically, socially, and intellectually. Ability to relate to children and adults, provide leadership, and develop a warm, caring environment. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Technology proficient. Heartsaver® Pediatric First Aid CPR AED certified or the willingness to complete the training. The ideal preferred candidate would meet the following responsibilities: To share the love of Christ through the ministry of the Preschool. Work cooperatively with all staff of Our Redeemer's and the staff of Our Redeemer's Preschool. Collaborate and coordinate with the director and the other teachers to complete school-wide tasks and in areas of curriculum, classroom routine, usage of space, supply/equipment acquisition, classroom behavior/discipline management, and other areas as they are identified. Design and supervise activities which promote the healthy emotional, social, intellectual, physical, and spiritual growth of each child. Respond appropriately to the children's behaviors, needs, and concerns. Maintain records of each child's developmental progress. Take responsibility for the upkeep of all equipment, materials, and supplies. Work with parents to promote cooperation, understanding of development, and participation in the program. Report to parents on child(ren) progress. Ensure the children's safety at all times. Supervise assistants and volunteers in the classroom. Participate in required Preschool-sponsored functions and, when possible, in optional functions. Other duties as need arises.
