Job Description

Here at Possessing the Keys of the Kingdom, we are seeking an energetic, experienced

PRE-K TEACHER

to join our childcare facility. In this position, you will be responsible for the early education and developmental needs of our students. You must have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood or related field in early childhood developmental education and be able to plan age-appropriate lessons to teach children through a variety of learning exercises. Responsibilities Ensure the safety of each child enrolled in the class whether in the classroom, on the playground, or in common areas; Maintain regular observation and evaluation of children's development and progress as directed by administration; Maintain portfolio for each student; Complete weekly lesson plans, goals, and newsletters; Accept and maintain responsibility on a daily basis for the ordered arrangement, appearance, decor, and cleanliness of the learning environment of the classroom; Plan and implement age and developmentally appropriate classroom practices that will include the areas of physical, emotional, social and cognitive needs of the young children. Serve as a role model for the children in the areas of attitude, speech and actions on a daily basis; Treat each child with dignity and respect for his/her cultural background; Encourage children's development in the areas of building self-confidence, problem solving, and taking responsibility for their actions; Interact with each child on a daily basis through circle time, centers, snacks, lunchtime, playground, free play, etc. Requirements Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Development Must be able to pass criminal background check Must pass TB Tine Skin Test Must have valid physical within last 12months High school diploma or GED required Current CPR and First Aid certifications required Minimum 2 years' experience working in a Pre-K setting Valid NC Driver's License Exceptional patience and ability to remain calm at all times Excellent listening skills and an engaging demeanor Solid working knowledge of childhood development Creativity, compassion, and professionalism are a must Fun and enthusiastic attitude Willing to sing, dance, and "be silly" with the children Physically able to perform tasks, including sitting on the floor, bending, and standing Must be able to lift children weighing up to 30 lbs regularly
