In this position, you will be responsible for the early education and developmental needs of our students. You must have a background in early childhood developmental education and able to plan age-appropriate lessons to teach children through a variety of learning exercises. Responsibilities Ensure the safety of each child enrolled in the class whether in the classroom, on the playground, or in common areas; Maintain regular observation and evaluation of children's development and progress as directed by administration; Maintain portfolio for each student; Change diapers/clean up after meals Accept and maintain responsibility on a daily basis for the ordered arrangement, appearance, decor, and cleanliness of the learning environment of the classroom; Plan and implement age and developmentally appropriate classroom practices that will include the areas of physical, emotional, social and cognitive needs of the young children. Serve as a role model for the children in the areas of attitude, speech and actions on a daily basis; Interact with each child on a daily basis through circle time, centers, snacks, lunchtime, playground, free play, etc. Requirements Associates Degree in Early Childhood Development preferred High school diploma or GED required Must have negative results on TB Tine Skin Test Must have up to date health assessment Must be able to pass criminal background check Current CPR and First Aid certifications required Minimum 2 years' experience working in a professional childcare setting Valid NC Driver's License Exceptional patience and ability to remain calm at all times Excellent listening skills and an engaging demeanor Solid working knowledge of childhood development Creativity, compassion, and professionalism are a must Fun and enthusiastic attitude •Willing to sing, dance, and "be silly" with the children Physically able to perform tasks, including sitting on the floor, bending, and standing Must be able to lift children weighing up to 30lbs regularly
