WNCSource has an opening for an NC PreK Teacher who will plan and implement learning experiences for children aged 4-5 years. Teacher responsibilities include:
Engaging in classroom activities and teaching in a manner consistent with the philosophy and goals of theWNCSource Head Start NC Preschool program building and maintaining a positive, nurturing, and supportive relationship with the children and families. Planning and implementing learning experiences as part of the Head Start NC Preschool curriculum that address physical health and development, social and emotional development, approaches to learning, language development and communication, and cognitive development. Creating ongoing assessments of the growth and development of assigned children to form instruction and measure progress toward School Readiness Goals. Partnering with families to develop positive, open, relationship-based two-way communication using home visits, parent/teacher conferences and other communication tools. Establishing procedures to support successful transitions for enrolled children and families into and out of NC Pre K classrooms. Maintaining a safe and healthy environment in the classroom and on the playground. Head Start prepares young children to succeed in school and in life beyond school. Qualifications Minimum:
Baccalaureate degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Services, or a related field
Preferred:
Baccalaureate degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Services, or a related field and hold or be working toward a NC (NC) Birth through Kindergarten (B-K) Continuing License or B-K or Preschool Add-on License. Thank you for your interest in WNCSource.
