Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Lead Teacher is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing developmentally appropriate curriculum and classroom activities that promote the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth of young children. This role includes guiding assistant teachers, maintaining a safe and nurturing environment, and building strong relationships with families to support children's learning and development.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement lesson plans and activities aligned with early childhood standards and the center's philosophy. Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that supports each child's individual needs and abilities. Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children through active supervision and adherence to state licensing regulations. Assess and document children's developmental progress, sharing observations with families and adjusting curriculum as needed. Collaborate with assistant teachers and staff to maintain classroom organization, routines, and a nurturing atmosphere. Communicate regularly with families to build trust, share progress, and encourage family involvement. Support the social-emotional development of children by modeling positive behavior and guiding conflict resolution. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training to maintain current knowledge of best practices in early childhood education. Ensure compliance with center policies, state regulations, and accreditation standards.
Work Environment:
Classroom setting with active engagement with children ages 2-5 years of age. Physical activity including lifting up to 40 lbs, sitting on the floor, and engaging in play.

$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
