Job Description

  • Work with ADC team to ensure safety of clients, at all times.
  • Interact with clients in a professional and positive manner.
  • Treat clients with respect, kindness, patience; helping to maintain clients' dignity.
  • Assist clients who are unsteady with walking, assist clients with personal care and toileting when necessary
  • Able lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Provide hands-on assistance for clients, including personal care as needed.
  • Participate in leading activities/program at request of Lead Activities Assistant.
  • Participate in organization and coordination of activities/projects at request of Lead Activities Assistant.
  • Assist during lunchtime to ensure calm, orderly flow of dining experience for clients.
  • Set up program rooms for recreation activities.
  • Communicate with member's responsible party as needed and directed.
  • Promote ADC in the community whenever possible.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor with participants, families, and staff.
  • Patience, compassion, and understanding when assisting members with mobility, cognitive, or physical challenges.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and adapt to changing needs during mealtimes.
  • Dependability, punctuality, and strong attention to detail.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in activity programming within an adult day center, senior services, or long-term care setting.
  • Previous experience to lead group activities and adapt programs for individuals with dementia and varying levels of ability.
  • experience de-escalating behaviors in group recreational settings.
High School diploma or equivalent. CHHA preferred
