Job Description

Summary Under the supervision and leadership of the Assistant Director of Preschool Programs and Director of Children's Programs, the Preschool Teacher role is to support the Leadership Team operating and maintaining The Creative Campus, Preschool Program. The Preschool Teacher is responsible for developing lesson plans according to New Jersey's Common Core Curriculum. The Preschool Teacher is also responsible for maintaining an environment that is safe, appropriate and meets the individual needs of the children enrolled in the program. Essential Duties
  • Follows the Jointure policies and procedures. Ensure site is in compliance with ALL New Jersey Department of Children and Families, Office of Licensing requirements.
  • Assumes responsibility for planning indoor and outdoor activities which are safe and secure, promoting problem solving skills and learning, are developmentally appropriate, promote growth in all developmental areas and meets the needs of all children.
  • Responsible for checking inventory of materials regularly, placing supply orders through the Director of Children's Programs or with approval, purchases items with tax exempt form; all receipts must be handed in within 2 weeks from date of purchase. Orders must be placed in a timely fashion.
  • Attend mandatory trainings and professional development and communicate information to staff.
  • Maintain children's records in a safe and secure area ensuring confidentiality.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient attendance recording methods and parent sign in/out.
  • Maintain appropriate records for students with medical or special needs in a safe and secure place ensuring confidentiality.
  • Oversee, respond, and follow proper protocol for emergencies using good judgment.
  • Follow proper procedures for documenting and informing necessary parties of incidents, accidents, and illnesses.
  • Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use, both in learning activities and imaginative play.
  • Plan and implement lesson plans and activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate. Instruct students individually and in groups and adapt teaching methods to meet students' varying needs and interests.
  • Observe and evaluate children's performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
  • Maintain accurate and complete student records and prepare reports on children and activities.
  • Prepare materials, classroom, and other indoor and outdoor spaces to facilitate creative play, learning and motor-skills activities, and safety.
  • Attend All Creative Campus Related events, Open House, Back to School Night, Orientation, and Conferences.
  • Attend at least ½ of the scheduled Marketing events.
  • Assume or perform any other duties deemed necessary by the Jointure Administration. Requirements
  • NJ Elementary Teaching License with a P-3 certification/endorsement
  • Previous teaching experience
  • Knowledge of NJ Common Core Curriculum Standards, fluency with various language arts, writing and math.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with students and teachers effectively.
  • Strong ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Capability to manage classroom materials, student assignments, and maintain order.
  • Ability to work with students with diverse needs and provide support with patience and understanding.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing situations and assist with various tasks as needed.
  • Creative and strong lesson planning skill
Pay:
$47,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
