Job Overview Beechwood School is a family owned, single site childcare center in Haddonfield, NJ. We are professional, supportive and customer-centric. Join our vibrant early childhood education team as a Teacher Assistant supporting children aged 2-1/2 to 6 years old. In this role, you will play a vital part in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where young learners can explore, grow, and develop essential skills. Responsibilities Assist lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans that promote early childhood development and learning through play-based activities. Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety and engagement at all times. Support children with their individual needs fostering an inclusive classroom environment. Help maintain a clean, organized classroom environment by preparing materials, sanitizing toys, and managing supplies efficiently. Engage with children through nurturing caregiving practices to promote emotional well-being. Observe and document children's progress and behavior to inform head teacher. Enforce classroom management policies to promote positive behavior and respectful interactions among children. Skills Prior experience working with young children in preschool, daycare, or childcare settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices. Ability to implement behavior management techniques that encourage positive social interactions. Certifications such as first aid and CPR are desirable to ensure safety in emergency situations. Experience working with individuals with special needs enhances your ability to support diverse learners. Strong classroom management skills combined with patience, flexibility, and excellent communication abilities. Familiarity with infant care, toddler care, babysitting, nannying, or caregiving roles demonstrates your versatility in caring for children of various ages.
