Preschool Assistant

Overview We're looking for a teacher assistant who brings patience, energy, and heart into the classroom — someone who loves being part of a child's day and helping things run smoothly behind the scenes. Build Yourself Up Academy is growing, and we're looking for a reliable and caring Teacher Assistant to support our preschool classrooms. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with young children, is naturally helpful, and takes pride in being part of a team. Duties Support the head teacher throughout the day Help with classroom routines like arrival, snack, playtime, and transitions Assist with activities and engage with children during play Help children with basic needs (clean-up, handwashing, etc.) Keep the classroom clean, organized, and prepared Step in where needed to help the day run smoothly Build positive, caring relationships with the children Qualifications Prior experience working with young children in a daycare, preschool, or private school setting is highly preferred Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues Ability to work collaboratively within a team while demonstrating patience and adaptability Certification or coursework in early childhood education or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory
