Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Early Childhood Assistant - Substitute to join our vibrant educational team! In this vital role, you will step into classrooms to support early childhood educators, ensuring a nurturing, engaging, and safe environment for young learners. Your enthusiasm and flexibility will help maintain continuity of care and education when regular staff are unavailable. Responsibilities Assist lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, and social-emotional learning activities Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, and transitions to ensure safety and positive behavior management Support individualized learning needs by working with children with disabilities or special needs, including those with autism or requiring special education accommodations Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that promotes learning and development through educational technologies and Montessori or other pedagogical methods Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress, behavior, and any concerns that arise during the day Collaborate with teaching staff on classroom management strategies and curriculum adjustments to meet diverse student needs Follow all educational compliance regulations and health & safety protocols, including first aid and CPR procedures Requirements Prior experience working with young children in educational or childcare settings is highly preferred Knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and classroom behavior management strategies Familiarity with special education practices, including working with individuals with disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD) Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with teachers, parents, and team members Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments as a substitute teacher or assistant Proficiency in using computers and educational technologies to support learning activities Certification in first aid and CPR is required or willing to obtain upon hire Understanding of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) guidelines and educational regulation compliance Join us in creating a joyful learning environment where every child feels valued and supported!
