Help New Mexico (HELPNM) was created in 1965 by the interdenominational New Mexico Council of Churches to support education in their community. Today, their legacy and impact carry on through HELPNM's work as a fully-owned subsidiary of CPLC. The Office of Learning and Academic Opportunity (OLAO) provides services to children and families from birth to eight years of age. Our priority is to provide general services related to families in the areas of education, health and social/behavioral development. OLAO also provides an intentional, coordinated approach to strengthening the family unit and combines programming for children and adults in order to build strong and stable families.
HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT IN THIS ROLE?
You will be responsible for promoting school readiness by preparing children and their families for school success as well as life success as it is related to this position.
You will provide high quality developmentally appropriate care and education for children aged 0-3 in a center-based classroom for
HELP NM ECD
Program.
You will work as part of a center based inter-disciplinary team to support the children in all areas of development while providing education, health and social support to families.
You will abide by all state and federal regulations that apply to care and education of young children including revised Head Start Program Performance Standards, NM Child Care Licensing, and
HELP NM ECD
Policies and Procedures.
You will actively always supervise children by sight and sound and in all environments.
You will maintain all health and safety regulations to create an optimum learning environment.
You will facilitate health practices to keep children safe in indoor and outdoor environments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
Education/Background:
Education & Years of Experience
High School Diploma/GED and Child Development Associate (CDA) or be willing to obtain with 6 months of hire required
New Mexico Child Development Certificate (CDC), associate or bachelor's degree are preferred
Obtain Teaching Strategies GOLD inter-rater reliability certification within 6 month of hire
Minimum of 6 months experience in teaching infants or toddlers
Bilingual English/Spanish (preferred)
Valid Driver's license and Current Auto Insurance
TB test or Chest X-ray
NM ECECD
Background Clearance
First Aid/CPR Certified or must obtain within first 6 months of employment
Applicants must obtain Food Handlers card upon hire
