In this vital role, you will create a warm, engaging classroom environment that promotes early childhood development, social-emotional growth, and foundational learning. Your leadership will ensure that each toddler receives attentive care, meaningful educational experiences, and a safe space to explore and grow. As a Lead Teacher, you will collaborate with families and team members to foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that supports every child's unique needs and potential. Responsibilities Design and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum tailored to toddlers' interests and abilities, emphasizing early childhood education principles. Lead daily classroom activities that promote social skills, language development, motor skills, and emotional regulation. Provide attentive care including diapering, feeding, nap supervision, and health monitoring in accordance with safety standards. Manage classroom behavior through positive guidance strategies and behavior management techniques to foster a respectful learning environment. Collaborate with families to share progress updates, address concerns, and develop individualized plans supporting each child's growth. Supervise and mentor assistant teachers or caregivers, ensuring high-quality care and adherence to licensing regulations. Maintain accurate records of children's developmental milestones, attendance, incident reports, and communication logs. Experience Prior experience working with children in a preschool or daycare setting is required; experience specifically with toddlers is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development theories and best practices in early childhood education. Proven classroom management skills with the ability to create an organized, nurturing environment conducive to learning. Experience working with children who have special needs or disabilities is a plus; familiarity with special education strategies is advantageous. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as early childhood education credentials or childcare licenses are desirable.
