Job Description
A private family in Summerlin is seeking an experienced early-childhood educator to provide structured, developmentally appropriate instruction for two children, ages 5 and 3. The educator will implement an individualized learning program incorporating early literacy, phonics, writing, mathematics, science, creative arts, practical-life skills, and physical activity. The position requires a professional who can establish consistent routines while adapting instruction to each child's developmental level and learning style. Primary Responsibilities Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons in early literacy, phonics, handwriting and written expression, mathematics, science, and health Develop fine-motor skills and foundational writing abilities through developmentally appropriate activities Incorporate art, movement, outdoor exploration, and practical-life activities Develop weekly lesson plans and prepare all instructional materials Assess and document academic and developmental progress Maintain an organized and productive learning environment Provide regular progress updates to the family Coordinate occasional educational outings and experiential-learning activities Required Qualifications Professional experience in early-childhood or elementary education Demonstrated knowledge of preschool and kindergarten development Experience teaching early literacy, phonics, foundational writing, and mathematics Strong organizational, communication, and classroom-management skills Ability to provide both structure and individualized support Professional discretion, reliability, and sound judgment Reliable transportation Ability to successfully complete a background check Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in education, early-childhood development, or a related field Current or former teaching credential Montessori, Reggio Emilia, or other child-centered educational experience CPR and First Aid certification Experience working as a private educator within a family residence This is a dedicated educational position and does not include general household responsibilities.
