Job Overview Join our small pet care team as a Doggie Daycare Helper and (potential) Trainer Assistant! In this energetic role, you'll be at the heart of creating a safe, fun, and enriching environment for a small group of dogs of all breeds and sizes. Your enthusiasm and animal handling skills will help ensure each pup receives top-notch care, training support, and socialization. Duties Assist with dog handling, ensuring proper animal restraint and safe interactions during playtime and training sessions Support trainer in implementing obedience exercises and behavioral training activities Maintain a clean and sanitized environment by keeping play area clean and safe Learn about dog behavior and playgroup basics. Monitor dogs' behavior closely to identify signs of stress or discomfort, intervening as needed to ensure safety. Help with pet boarding and day-care routines, including feeding, watering, and providing enrichment activities Be comfortable handling a group of 6-10 dogs on your own for short periods Regular necessary hours are on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:15-12:15 Extra hours available depending on availability and interest but not required to obtain position Experience Experience in any animal handling experience whether it be shelter volunteering or employment, vet's office, pet sitting, dog training, 4-H, or similar animal handling roles is preferred. Will train for the right person if not. Familiarity with kennel operations, pet grooming, or animal restraint techniques is beneficial as well as past experience in any animal training or boarding/daycare facility Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling large dogs or equipment Outdoor play-yard so must enjoy being out in the elements in cold and hot temps for up to four hours. Must be able to be on your feet for up to four hours and be active with the dogs Do you love playing with dogs? Maybe want to learn more about them? Have aspirations of being a trainer one day or just learning training skills to help with your own dogs? This is a foot in the door position that could go further if desired but not required!

From $18.00 per hour
