About us Happy Kids Day Care is a small business in Castleton-on-Hudson, NY. We are a NYS licensed childcare facility that has provided care to the families in our community for over 40 years. Our primary goal is to provide a loving, caring, and safe environment where children can learn as much as possible at a developmentally appropriate level. We strive to enable children to feel secure and confident and free to explore and question the world around them. Our staff strives to promote a warm and friendly atmosphere in both words and deeds every day. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Toddler Teacher to join our team. The candidate we are looking for must have: Associate's degree in Early Childhood, Child Development or related field and 1 year of experience caring for infants or toddlers or Infant Toddler Child Development Associate Credential and Two years of experience related to caring for children or 9 college credits in Early Childhood, Child Development or a related field, with a plan of study leading to:
  • Infant and Toddler Child Care and Education Credential; or
  • Infant Toddler Child Development Associate Credential; or
  • other Office-recognized credential specific to the infant/toddler developmental period; or Associate's Degree in Early Childhood, Child Development or a related field and Two years of experience related to caring for children, one of which must be related to working with infants or toddlers they must be able to provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for our toddler group.
The successful candidate will be able to plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of the children in their care. They will also be responsible for maintaining records, communicating with parents, and working with other staff members to ensure the highest quality of care for our students.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement lesson plans that are appropriate for the age group. Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for children that promotes social, emotional and cognitive development. Provide guidance and support to children in their learning activities. Observe and assess the development of children in the classroom. Maintain records of student progress and behavior. Collaborate with parents about their child's progress and behavior and support each Childs individual needs. Ensure safety and well-being of all children in care.

$18.75 - $19.25 per hour
