Lead Infant Teacher 1 Bette Lane, Commack, NY 11725 $17.55 - $19.55 an hour - Full-time $17.55 - $19.55 an hour - Full-time Overview We are seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Infant Teacher to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this vital role, you will lead classroom activities, foster a nurturing environment, and support the developmental growth of our youngest learners. Your enthusiasm and expertise will inspire children to explore, learn, and thrive during their foundational years. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the early educational experiences of infants while working collaboratively with families and staff to promote child welfare and holistic development. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate curriculum plans tailored to infants' developmental stages, incorporating literacy education, physical activities, and sensory exploration. Lead daily classroom routines, including feeding, diapering, nap times, and play activities, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. Manage classroom behavior with positive reinforcement strategies and effective behavior management techniques to foster social-emotional growth. Collaborate with families to share progress updates, discuss individual needs, and support early intervention strategies when necessary. Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and student interns, providing guidance on classroom management, lesson planning, and child development best practices. Maintain accurate records of each child's developmental milestones, health information, and individualized education plans (IEPs) if applicable. Ensure compliance with licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and childcare policies at all times. Requirements Proven experience working with children in early childhood settings, particularly in toddler care or preschool environments. Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, curriculum development, classroom management, and behavior management techniques. Familiarity with special education practices, early intervention programs, and literacy education strategies for infants. Certification or training in early childhood education or Montessori methods is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with families, staff members, and external professionals. Ability to plan lessons that incorporate math concepts, physical education activities, and age-specific learning objectives. Demonstrated commitment to child welfare, safety protocols, and fostering an inclusive learning environment.
