A Preschool or Childcare Teacher works with young children, usually ages 3 - 5, to help them learn the social, motor and language skills needed to be ready for kindergarten and elementary school. Organizes activities and uses play or games to help children learn; develops schedules and routines for children that include exercise and rest. Works in a school or in a childcare center or program.

Job Description
Minimum Qualifications
- BA in Early Childhood Education or related field Must be certified in early childhood education birth through second grade
- At least 1 year of classroom experience Skills & knowledge
- Experience working in an early childhood setting
- Be warm and loving with a positive attitude and appreciation of children
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the children and program
- Respectful to all persons from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds
- Ability to organize and reflect teaching goals and progress in documentation: lesson plans, assessments and evaluations
- Ability to engage children in developmentally appropriate ways ( also including addressing children at eye level, sitting with children on the floor, engaging children in play and conversation)
- Ability to attend to daily tasks as an educator
- Maintain partnerships with families & staff
